Alex de Minaur wins the biggest ATP title of his career
eniQ ambassador Alex de Minaur won the biggest ATP Tour singles title of his career at the Mexican Open in Acapulco, coming from a set down to defeat Tommy Paul in Saturday night's final (Mexico time) 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.
After defeating world #10 Holger Rune in an epic three set semi final in the early hours of Saturday morning, de Minaur started slowly in the final losing the first set 6-3 but raised his level to win a tight second set 6-4 with some incredible shot making and his trademark court coverage and will to win. de Minaur then put the foot down on a tiring Paul in the third and deciding set, closing it out emphatically 6-1.
This is de Minaur's 7th ATP title and his first at ATP 500 level. He is still just 24 years of age.
de Minaur has had a fantastic start to the 2023 season reaching the 4th round at the Australian Open and back-to-back quarter finals in Rotterdam & Marseille before his breakthrough win in Mexico.
This win takes de Minaur's ranking back inside the Top 20, to number 18. He now heads to the United States for 2 ATP Masters 1000 events in Indian Wells and Miami.
eniQ products have played an important role in Alex's hydration & recovery in Mexico this week.
