WA recovers after a shaky start on the opening day of 4th straight Sheffield Shield title defence

After losing 2 wickets to their opening 2 deliveries, WA has recovered to a healthy 7-319 on the opening day of their 4th straight Sheffield Shield title defence against Queensland at the WACA ground.

A gritty century from opener Sam Whiteman and a devastating 93-ball century from Australian wicketkeeper Josh Inglis lifted the home side off the canvas to finish day 1 in a strong position.  The match continues today.
